Rhodium is from the platinum family of metals and is extremely durable, valuable and...expensive; about six times the price of gold.

We prefer this finish for it's natural beauty and because rhodium does not tarnish. This is a very important consideration when choosing metal finishes, especially for rhinestone mountings. Once a silver headpiece is tarnished, it is nearly impossible to restore it to brand new sparkling condition, so rhodium is definitely the better choice.
